Christmas came and went just like this. I was so looking forward to this festive season, or rather, the long weekends. If only i work 3.5 days every week! You see, i'm a strong believer of the famous saying "the grass is always greener on the other side", cuz i am a real life example. When i'm still a poor student, i would fantasize about myself in the corporate world, having earning power and all. And right now that i have exactly that, i whine about having to work from 9-6pm on weekdays, and not being able to watch movies at student rate, yada yada.

Ok i'm side tracking. Speaking about movies, i've just watched the most sensational movie of the year - Avatar! Thankfully wr has coerced me into watching the film in 3D. I love the message so loudly portrayed in this film, anti-war & Green. And there's this particular sentence dialogued in the movie that struck me hard.

"All energy is only borrowed and one day we have to give it back"

So go watch it if you havent. Best to watch in 3D!

I celebrated xmas eve with wr in town. Yes, a worst place to be at on that day considering the number of people who flocked there for dont-know-what reasons. Our presence in orchard is justified, cuz we had free xmas buffet voucher at Concorde Singapore, courtesy of my aunt. We were thrilled to be entitled a $112 dinner, only needing to top-up an additional cost of $21. The buffet was not too bad. Turkey, ham, salmon sashimi, beef, ham, crayfish, puddings, logcakes, ham etc. There were an impressive selections of ham, which i never know existed. All tasted yummy nonetheless, and that's all it matters too.

And finally...

Wr handed me my xmas/anniversary gift over the dinner. He'd alrdy let me in on my gift so i'm not surprised, but feeling a mixture of guilt and happiness. Tiff & Co. stuff are one of the sweetest gift a bf gives to his other half, and i'm over the moon when he intends to get me one of those. At the same time, it makes me sad to know that he's gotta scrimp and save on his expenses for the next month because he had just bought a beautiful bomb. Worse still, i got him an A|X sweater which doesnt fit him and ended up in my dad's wardrobe.

But to him, as long as i'm glowing, he would be too. What an awesome bf :)

(To Wr: if you ever dare to tease me on the awesome bf part after reading this post, you're gotta get it from me.)

Introducing the new member of my apple family

Photobucket

I'm dying to explore the exciting world of iphone apps but haven't found the time to do so. I'm still relying on my good old iTouch to listen to mp3 cuz i have yet to sync songs into iphone.

As much as i'm more than glad to have iphone from now on, im a tad sad to cease using the ever loyal nokia 7370. I know its prolly ancient by now, but it has dutifully served me well for the past 4 years. So...it has now a different and important role - My alarm clock! =)

My recent good read!

Photobucket

A non-fictional biography of the author himself which was very well portrayed of the cruelty and abuse he faced. There are quite a number of books with similar genre out there and all are recent release. I can't wait to lay on hands on them haha.

"In the recesses of our minds, lurk the memories and fears we tried to hide" - John Fenton, author of Please don't make me go.

It's been quite awhile since my friends last appear in this space. Not that i've forsaken them, i'm just plain lazy to upload all the stuff. I no longer have the luxury of facebooking and much less blogging in the office sobs sobs. My honeymoon period is over, so its work proper now haha.

Time really flies ever since i started work..or is it ever since i turned 21?? People always say once you're officially 21, your life will fast forward and you'll reach 30 before you know it. How scary.

Kapo-ed chelle's FB pics (she finally uploaded!). Ehh i think SY looks like a vampire in that pic. The next thing you know she'll be shimmering under the lights haha. Gosh i think my friends around me are damn fair. Except the dragonboaters of cuz haha.

And then followed by chelle's birthday dinner at this mexican restaurant in Holland V, which i cant recall the name. We had no pics of the food, prolly because we were too engaged in our conversations. I had this Mexican taco wrap thingy which was quite nice for a change!

Had Ma Maison (pronounce as maa-maa-eee-san)at the central sometime last week. I love the cosy feel of the restaurant with decors like curtains, table lamps etc. The restaurant serves the fusion of Jap-Western Cuisine and its quite nice! Beef addicts will definitely love it there. Their beef teppanyakki looks damn good. I had this yummy grilled chicken with some special nice sauce on it.

My colleagues and I head to Hanabi located near city hall today after work. It was a farewell dinner for one of the guys..he's gotta switch career and be a teacher next week. It was around 40 buckeroos per person, for a jap buffet. Though the reviews for Hanabi's not bad, i think its not worth the $$. The food are fresh and great, but they're mostly ramen, don, udon and sushis. Seriously, who eats these heavy carbs stuff that makes you full in one second in a buffet?? And i was really surprise that they dont serve fruits or desserts. Dionks. I was craving for watermelons!! So yea you get my point. Nonetheless, i'm still glad that i went haha. I had a good time with them. :)

Looking at the photos, i realised that meetups/gatherings and FOOD goes hand in hand together. This is bad stuff!! Perhaps it is time to revise on our venues when meeting up. I will grow fat if these goes on!
